Lana Bederman, 39, of Solon is a 1992 emigrant from Moscow, Russia. In their attempt to escape the Chernobyl fallout and tensions in the collapsing Soviet Union, her family struggled to emigrate and then settle into their new English-speaking country. Part of a series of interviews documenting the unique immigrant experience of Soviet Jews in northeast Ohio and explore issues of professional, family, and religious life.
