Anna Gert, 84, of Cleveland is a 1989/1990 emigrant from Alma-Ata (Almaty), Kazakhstan. An economist and writer, she is also the widow of well-known author Yuri Gert. She came to America to be with her children, who had already immigrated here. Part of a series of interviews documenting the unique immigrant experience of Soviet Jews in northeast Ohio and exploring issues of professional, family, and religious life.
